PET packaging & its applications
PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a thermoplastic and a member of the polyester family. It is perfectly transparent, which is why the material is ubiquitous in the food packaging sector.
- APET packaging covers a wide range of applications: meat packaging, poultry packaging, salad packaging, fish packaging, delicatessen product packaging, snack food packaging, cheese packaging, etc.
- Different PET packaging types: sealable containers, skin packaging food inserts, the boxes and lids, etc.
We provide this material in several different shapes:
- APET (amorphous PET)
- RPET (recycled PET)
- APET/PE (with a layer of polyethylene for the seal)
What are the characteristics of PET packaging?
- Appearance: shiny and smooth, highly transparent
- Mechanical properties: good rigidity and good resistance to impact
- Barrier properties: very good vapour and water impermeability
- Withstands temperatures between -40° C and +70° C
