Polyethylene terephthalate packaging

PET packaging & its applications

PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a thermoplastic and a member of the polyester family. It is perfectly transparent, which is why the material is ubiquitous in the food packaging sector.

  • APET packaging covers a wide range of applications: meat packaging, poultry packaging, salad packaging, fish packaging, delicatessen product packaging, snack food packaging, cheese packaging, etc.
  • Different PET packaging types: sealable containers, skin packaging food inserts, the boxes and lids, etc.

We provide this material in several different shapes:

  • APET (amorphous PET)
  • RPET (recycled PET)
  • APET/PE (with a layer of polyethylene for the seal)

What are the characteristics of PET packaging?

  1. Appearance: shiny and smooth, highly transparent
  2. Mechanical properties: good rigidity and good resistance to impact
  3. Barrier properties: very good vapour and water impermeability
  4. Withstands temperatures between -40° C and +70° C
PET packaging is recyclable
